A shared commitment, made together.
Fourteen organisations and partners were part of the ZWTL movement in 2025. Their participation brings waste generators and recycling partners into a shared effort to reduce waste generation, increase landfill diversion and keep valuable materials in use.

Different roles. A common direction.
Zero Waste to Landfill is a movement towards a more circular, responsible and traceable approach to waste. It brings organisations, waste management partners, recyclers, businesses and other stakeholders together to improve how materials are managed and tracked.
The documented 2025 cohort includes ten programme participants and four recycling partners. Those categories describe their involvement in the programme. They bring different roles to a shared journey, from committing to better waste practices to supporting recycling and recovery.
A commitment is a starting point.
Organisations can join the initiative at different stages of readiness. For those starting with the ZWTL Pledge, the first step is a voluntary commitment to minimise the waste they send to landfill through better management and continuous improvement.
The Pledge is free to join. Participants work towards at least 75% landfill diversion within 12 months of signing, beginning with a baseline and a practical plan. They track their progress, report quarterly to the Secretariat and review their journey over each 12-month period.
The participation certificate and ZWTL participation logo recognise that commitment. Signing the Pledge does not establish independent ZWTL Verification.
Partnerships connect the work.
A waste generator and a recovery partner play different parts in the same material journey. Waste Neutralisation Partners recover, recycle, compost or convert waste to value. They also provide recovery evidence that helps connect material movements with what happens after collection.
Control Union reviews partner facilities, compliance information and documentation before approved partners are listed in the ZWTL Partner Directory and Digital Platform. A programme partnership or directory listing is separate from an independent verification outcome.
Keep the journey going.
The movement extends beyond a public commitment. The ZWTL approach begins with preventing and reducing waste, then keeping products and materials in use through reuse, repurposing, recycling and appropriate recovery.
Training helps organisations build knowledge and practical skills. The Digital Platform supports operational tracking. Independent verification offers a separate assessment against applicable ZWTL Standard requirements. Together, these pathways allow organisations to take the next step according to their readiness.
