Following waste beyond collection.
Where waste goes after collection matters. The ZWTL Digital Platform connects the operational journey from a collection request to treatment, tracking, measurement and reporting, with different roles for waste generators and Waste Neutralisation Partners.

A connected operational journey.
The platform follows a defined sequence: request collection, connect with a Waste Neutralisation Partner, collect, treat or recover, track, measure diversion and report. Recycling and composting are among the recovery activities described in the programme.
This sequence connects a request for collection with the activities that follow it. The platform supports waste tracking, contact with WNPs, monitoring of treatment activities and measurement of landfill-diversion performance.
Two roles in the same journey.
A participant, or producer, is an organisation that generates waste. The Producer App provides the route for that organisation to request collections and follow the treatment and performance information associated with its waste-management journey.
A Waste Neutralisation Partner collects and recycles, composts or responsibly manages relevant waste. The WNP App supports partners recording treatment activities and providing traceable recovery information.
The public ZWTL website introduces these pathways and links to the separate operational apps. The website and Digital Platform serve different purposes.
Recovery needs evidence.
The WNP programme asks partners to provide the required documentation for waste recovery. Before partners join the network, Control Union reviews their facilities, compliance and documentation.
Those records support a more traceable approach to material management. Collection, treatment and recovery form parts of a journey that organisations can track and report, alongside their work to reduce waste generation.
Tracking and verification are different steps.
Operational records help organisations follow progress. Independent ZWTL Verification is a separate assessment against the applicable ZWTL Standard, with an outcome referred to as a Verification Opinion.
A Pledge commitment, a WNP listing or use of the Digital Platform does not by itself establish that an organisation is independently verified. Organisations interested in verification can discuss their scope and the applicable requirements with Control Union Malaysia.
Keep prevention in the picture.
Following materials after collection is one part of ZWTL. The broader approach begins earlier: avoid creating waste, use fewer materials and keep products in use for longer through reuse or repurposing.
Tracking the operational journey supports this wider shift from waste management to resource management. The aim is to reduce waste generation while improving the way materials are recovered, managed and traced.
